Pleasant after hot days
« on: August 18, 2018, 05:08:32 am »
After nearly a month of record-breaking heat, now it's pleasant with enjoyable temperatures, humidities, and deep blue skies.
In the lower photo, a faraway horizon beyond the west coast shows between the trees.  --- tk

Lovely photos, tk. You will no doubt welcome the cooler change.
Your deep blue skies are just like here. Except that here they are known as pitiless blue skies. With 100% of NSW in declared drought and most of Queensland too, the last thing our producers want to see is a blue sky. For them 'fine' weather is when it's raining.

I wish I could blow some tropical moisture that way.  --- tk

Thanks, tk. Here's a piece of the poem I was thinking of:

Core of my heart, my country!
Her pitiless blue sky,
When, sick at heart, around us
We see the cattle die
But then the grey clouds gather,
And we can bless again
The drumming of an army,
The steady soaking rain.
